Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Lumos (distributed under the App Store name "LumosFlash" and referred to here as "the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Use of the app is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"), which Apple includes by reference with every app sold through the App Store. Where the Apple EULA and these Terms conflict, these Terms control to the extent permitted by the Apple EULA.

2. Description of Service

Lumos is a camera and photo-editing application for iOS that includes manual capture controls, a non-destructive editor (HSL, curves, color grading, multi-octave grain, lo-fi recipes, saved recipes), an on-device LUT pipeline, and a community LUT marketplace called LUT Cloud.

Free tier. All core camera and editing functionality is free. Browsing and downloading from LUT Cloud is also free and does not require you to sign in with an Apple ID — the app uses an anonymous Firebase account created automatically on first launch.

Apple Sign-In is only required to upload LUTs to LUT Cloud, file reports against community content, or recover Pro entitlements across devices.

Lumos Pro. Selected workflow features — bulk recipe apply, bulk export, unlimited saved recipe slots, the Pro lo-fi recipes — are gated behind a paid Lumos Pro entitlement, sold as an auto-renewable subscription or a one-time lifetime license. See Section 5.

3. Eligibility

Lumos is rated 4+ on the App Store, but you must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your country) to create an account, upload to LUT Cloud, or purchase Lumos Pro. By using the app you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Accounts

The app creates an anonymous Firebase account on first launch so the app has a stable identifier for community features and entitlement caching. You can use Lumos as an anonymous user indefinitely — anonymous accounts can browse, download, and purchase Pro.

Apple Sign-In upgrades the anonymous account in place, so the same identifier carries your previous activity and Pro entitlement forward. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Account deletion is permanent — it removes your uploaded LUTs, your report history, and your account record. Subscription billing is governed separately by Apple (see Section 5).

5. Subscriptions, Lifetime Purchase & Auto-Renewal

Pricing. Lumos Pro is offered at the following prices in the U.S. App Store. Local pricing in other regions follows Apple's regional price tiers.

Free trial (annual only). The annual subscription includes a 7-day free trial when you first start an annual plan. If you cancel any time before the trial ends, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel, the trial converts automatically to a paid annual subscription at the price listed above.

Auto-renewal. The monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period for the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your iTunes account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period. You can review and manage all subscriptions, and turn off auto-renewal, at any time in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Lifetime purchase. The lifetime license is a single, non-recurring In-App Purchase. It grants you Pro entitlement on every Apple ID-linked device for the lifetime of the Lumos app on the App Store. It does not auto-renew.

Payment processor. All purchases are processed by Apple. Apple is the merchant of record. Lumos does not see, store, or process payment card details. We use RevenueCat to validate Apple receipts and surface your entitlement state to the app.

Refunds. Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple under Apple's refund policy. Submit refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot directly issue refunds for App Store purchases.

Restore purchases. If you reinstall the app or change devices, tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings to re-sync your Pro entitlement.

Price changes. If we change the price of a renewing subscription, Apple will notify you and require your explicit consent before charging the new price.

Family Sharing. Lumos Pro subscriptions and the lifetime license are not currently shared via Apple's Family Sharing.

6. LUT Cloud — Community Guidelines

LUT Cloud is a community-driven marketplace for sharing color grading presets. By uploading content you agree to the following.

You may:

• Upload original LUT files you have created or own the rights to distribute
• Download and use community LUTs in personal and commercial photo and video projects
• Report content that violates these guidelines

You may not:

• Upload LUT files you do not own or do not have permission to distribute
• Upload content that is misleading, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, or otherwise objectionable
• Upload preview images that are not generated from a representative photo, or that contain objectionable imagery
• Upload files that contain malware, malformed binary data, or that are not valid .cube LUTs
• Abuse the reporting system to target other users' legitimate content
• Manipulate download counts, ratings, or other community metrics
• Use automated tools to bulk-download or scrape community content

We enforce a zero-tolerance policy on objectionable content and abusive users (App Store Review Guideline 1.2). LUTs that receive a configurable threshold of reports are automatically hidden pending review. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion.

7. Content Ownership & License

You retain ownership of any LUT files you upload to LUT Cloud. By uploading, you grant Lumos a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and serve your LUT files and preview images through the LUT Cloud platform and the Lumos app, for as long as the LUT remains uploaded. Other users who download your LUT may use it in their own photo and video work.

You can remove your uploaded LUTs at any time from Settings → My Uploads. Removing a LUT deletes the cube file, preview JPEG, and all report records from our servers, but users who previously downloaded the LUT retain their local copies.

8. Premium Creators

Lumos may grant a "Premium Creator" badge to selected creators we manually verify. The badge is a visual marker only — it does not confer additional ownership, monetization, or moderation rights over uploaded LUTs, and Lumos retains sole discretion over who is added to or removed from the premium creator list at any time.

9. Acceptable Use

When using Lumos, you agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except as expressly permitted by applicable law
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, the LUT Cloud backend, or other users' accounts
• Interfere with other users' ability to use the app or the LUT Cloud service
• Circumvent the In-App Purchase system or share Pro entitlements with users who have not paid for them

10. Intellectual Property

The Lumos app, its design, branding, the names "Lumos," "LumosFlash," and "LUT Cloud," and the original content distributed with the app are the property of Lumos and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The built-in color profiles, lo-fi recipes, grain profiles, and camera presets are proprietary and may not be extracted or redistributed.

11. Disclaimers

Lumos is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that the app or LUT Cloud will be error-free, that community-uploaded LUTs will be free of defects, or that no third-party-uploaded LUT will ever produce objectionable results when applied to your imagery. Photos and videos you capture and edit with the app are your responsibility.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lumos shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including, without limitation, lost photos, corrupted files, lost data, or loss of business — arising out of or in connection with your use of the app.

For any direct damages, our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid Lumos for Pro subscriptions and lifetime licenses during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to LUT Cloud if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from the Settings screen. Upon termination, your uploaded LUTs and report records will be removed from our servers. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any unused portion of a Pro subscription, which is governed by Apple's refund policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes — such as new paid tiers, new categories of community content, or changes to your rights or our liability — will be surfaced in-app before taking effect. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. This clause does not limit any non-waivable consumer rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence.
